Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends growing up, working together at the same magazine. Ingrid became a self-fiction writer while Martha became a war reporter, and their lives were torn apart by circumstances. After years of not seeing each other, they find themselves in an extreme, yet strangely sweet, situation.
